ALTERNATIVE AGRICULTURE
This team is divided into three groups: Bruce Greenhouse, Rusk County Farmers Market, and Flambeau High School. The Bruce Greenhouse project is ongoing and has received $15,000 from local businesses to help build a $42,000 greenhouse.
This group meets periodically, yet they are frustrated with learning how to find funding and write grants to finish their project. Therefore, the project is somewhat stalled until team members have more time to investigate possible grants.
The Rusk County Farmers Market is also an ongoing project. The MIRA-funded sign can be clearly seen along Highway 8 in Ladysmith. Produce is sold Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
